This Postilian hat, so named for the post
chaise coach riders of France who preferred
to wear them, came onto the fashion scene
around 1780. Their popularity dramatically
increased over the next ten years, and by
1810 they had virtually replaced the tricorn.
These tapered top hats remained popular
until about 1830. Stretched right here in our
hat shop from rabbit-fur felt and finished by
our own Milliner. Trimmed with a leather
hatband with brass buckle and lined with
an adjustable linen liner for a perfect fit.
Comes with a Hat Jack! Please provide your
head measurement and allow 3 to 4 weeks
for delivery. Maximum head measurement
is 24-1/2”.
