Also called a scuffle or oven mop, used to
swab wood ash and small embers from the
floor of a hot wood-fired oven. They also
help cool down oven floors to proper baking
temperatures while introducing moisture into
the oven atmosphere for crispy bread crusts.
Designed after 18th century examples depicted in the Diderot's Encyclopaedia. Sturdy construction.
