Hand Blown Onion Bottle GB-214

By about 1680, the long-neck bottle had evolved into the squat onion bottle. This shorter version was manufactured between 1680 and the 1720's, and was likely used into the mid 18th century. Made of dark green glass, it has a a string rim and shallow basal kick similar to original versions. About 6” tall, and holds approximately 32 oz. Originally used primarily for storing wines, but also good for vinegars, oils, and water.Imported.
